Starry Kent was founded in 2008 by students studying at University of Kent. They spotted an opportunity in the market amongst the international students studying at the University of Kent. The original store was located at Northgate, Central Canterbury specializing in Chinese, Japanese, and Korean products. It was Starry Asian Market UK (Ltd)’s first ever store. Starry Kent has now been relocated to Broad Oak Road, the current store is 300sqm which is 7.5 times bigger than the original store allowing us to stock a wider range of products, but also introducing fresh imported fruit and vegetables and fresh hand-made bakery products.
